Scope

This guide covers how to find historical, cultural, and political background information on specific works of world literature: The Death of Vishnu, The Dew Breaker, The Kite Runner, and short works from the text, Worlds of Fiction.

Also presented are tips on finding literary criticism based on particular modes such as Gender Criticism, Marxist Literary Criticism, Socio-Political Criticism, Psychoanalytical Criticism, and Philosophical Approaches.

Resources for close textual reading through the aspects of theme, character, and symbols or motifs are also provided.
