Letter from Library Director
Dear Faculty Member:
Welcome to J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College Libraries! We are eager to establish a close link between you and our libraries for your teaching and learning needs.
The libraries of the 21st century have drastically and dramatically changed and emerging technologies offer exciting pathways for teaching and learning. Our website serves as a gateway to a full range of resources, services, and links to VCCS, VIVA library networks, electronic databases, interlibrary loan, research assistance, and other websites. We hope you will familiarize yourself with this information guide which will assist you in retrieving resources and services and incorporate them into your curriculum. The library staff is available, six days a week, to offer you advice and guidance to access resources and services to on campus and off-campus instruction and research.
If you have access to the Internet, you may use the college library databases and conduct searches on your own. A number of databases are available and many resources have access to online information in full-text format. The library staff can also offer you customized searches after a consultation with one of the librarians in person, by telephone, email, LRCLive, and/or fax.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have suggestions on how we can provide further services to you in your teaching fields. We are looking forward to working with you during this session. Have a fruitful and enjoyable semester.
Abdul J. Miah, Ed. D.
