Introduction

Making a few small changes in your daily routine can make a huge impact on our planet. This guide will give you tips and ideas on ways you can incorporate a more green lifestyle, at the library and beyond.

For ideas on how to help around the home or office, start with some of the books in our collection, or websites we've marked as being useful.

How Can I Help?

The biggest way to help at the library is to only print what you need, and when printing PowerPoint slides, to put multiple slides per page (see below).

Conserving things like energy, water, gasoline, etc not only help save the environment, they also help you save money!

PowerPoint: Printing Multiple Slides per Page

You have many different printing options available when you click on the Start Circle and choose Print. Under "Print Range:" you can decide which slides you wish to print; you don't have to include title slides, for example.

To print multiple slides per page, under "Print What:" choose 'Handouts' instead of 'Slides'.  You can determine the number of slides (between 1 and 9) printed on each handout page. Unless the text on the slides is small, or has detailed pictures, six slides per page should be legible.

If you need help, ask a librarian. We're happy to show you how this works.
