Sign up for a free NFPA account to view the most recent NFPA codes and standards:
You will be prompted to create an account using an email address (personal or school) and coming up with their own password.
- After you sign up for free access, enter keywords in the search box or browse through the list of material.
- After selecting a specific publication, scroll down past the purchase option button and click on the Free access button.
- You will then be prompted to click on an I agree button to agree to the NFCO's terms & conditions.
General NFPA instructions to review codes and standards online:
- View the list of NFPA's codes and standards.
- Search for the code/standard # and select the Read More link.
- Once on the specific page, use the drop-down menu to select the edition year, then Select Edition.
- Next, click on the Free Access button.
- A new browser window will open displaying terms & conditions.
- Review and accept the agreement term to view the publication.
- Use the "Table of Contents" or paging buttons to view chapters/sections.
- Use the Zoom feature to increase/decrease the font size.
