Dublin Rising: 1916-2016

Dublin Rising 1916-2016 is a site built by Google in partnership with Ireland 2016. The virtual tour allows anyone to explore locations around Dublin city and discover the events of the 1916 Rising. Includes images from the time, recorded witness statements and historical video.

Out of Eden Walk

Paul Salopek is walking 21,000 miles, a seven-year trek around the world, called Out of Eden Walk.  In 2013 Paul started in Ethiopia, crossed the Red Sea, headed north, and is currently in Kazakhstan.   His photos,videos and observations allow us to follow this incredible journey.

Delish is a website that not only produces those super cool cooking videos but also produces amazing collections of recipes. I've especially enjoyed the "So What's For Dinner?" section where you can find five tasty recipes to try each week.

Travel with Hong

I love to travel and along the way I took pictures with my iPhone.   Recently I began to post travel blogs to share with my family and friends.  Though the Blog is in Chinese, there are lots of pictures and pictures speak volumes.  I thought you might be interested in them as well.  At this moment, I've only posted my recent trips.  Past trip to Thailand, Cambodia, etc, will be added later.  Hope you enjoy them!

8:30-9:00  Continental breakfast provided by the library. (Library Break Room and DTC Library)

9:00-9:30  Welcome and self introductions. (Library Instruction Room)

9:30-10:15 Student Behaviors and Interventions, Dr. Wendy Bolt, Dean of Students. (Library Instruction Room)

10:15-10:30 Break

10:30-11:30 Open discussion in professional groups. We will split into our roles (reference, circulation and part-time technology specialists) for an open discussion on empathy and customer service. (Instruction Room, Reynolds Room and DTC Library)

11:30-12:00 Library Variety Show.  Share a video, a website, a book or recommend a library resource. You can upload the links to the web sites or videos to the "Suggest a link or a resource" column to the left. Turn in homework/ideas for Library Open House (we'll provide notecards!) (Library Instruction Room)

12:00-1:15  Lunch. Box lunches from Sally Bell's Kitchen. Please RSVP and/or make your lunch selection. (Library Break Room and DTC Library.) 

1:30 Depart for tour of new Cabell Library. Library staff will carpool from the DTC campus and park in a deck near the library.
